About

Independent, freelancing acoustical consultant. Music worshipper.  Ex-technical writer in the IT industry. Brought alive by music, good reading, the occasional trip, and some writing.  Amateur instrumentalist.  Half-trained vocalist. Half-baked cook. Mother of a 10 month-old mischief monger. And therefore, former book lover.
The purpose of this blog is to make the reader aware of the wonderful science of acoustics, and the many dimensions on which our life is affected by it. Also, I’d like to make people aware that one doesn’t always have to put up with noise, and that it can do more damage to our quality of life and health than we think.  Easy solutions are usually possible in foresight, and sometimes, even in hindsight.

  4. Dear Ma’am

We have Acoustics module in Building Services course for Third Year B.Arch students. I have realised that for the students to understand better, we need to have a guest lecture from someone who is working extensively in the Industry.

Looking forward for your help in same. Our University is located in Sohna near Gurgaon. It would be very helpful if you can direct me to someone who is around this area whom I can contact to give a guest lecture/workshop for our students.

    Regards

    Hello there.
I am Hanieh Majidi from Iran.
I have a lot of interest in acoustic topics in architecture.
My major is bionic architecture and now I am writing my master’s thesis on optimization of concert halls in acoustic terms.
I have read the content of your website and it is very interesting to answer most of my questions.
Especially in the field of acoustic education.
I am very interested in going abroad to continue my education and continue the acoustic program because my country have paid much less attention to this topic and there is a great need for it, and unfortunately there are few people who specialize in this field of information That’s why I am very interested to go to European countries or the United Kingdom to pursue a PhD degree , but before that I decide to go to a country close to my country like India, for short course about six months. In the field of acoustics in architecture and music, as well as noise-related issues, and will work on a few related companies and gain experience.
Your website helped me a lot. I’m asking you for help on how to find universities offering short-term acoustic courses or institutes that provide high-quality courses with valid degrees in India.
Let me before say my Thanks for your useful information.
